Below
is a summary advising on cleaning concrete pavers,
pattern imprinted concrete, and garage
floors
There are
different products available for removing stains off
concrete. Brick acid is one which is
universally used and easy and cheap to buy. It is availawble
from most builder's merchants. It should be diluted as directed
then applied with a brush. It is not meant specifically for
concrete so be cautious, especially with more delicate surfaces
like pattern imprinted concrete. If unsure try a small amount
out first on an area not seen much.
There are plenty of
specialist concrete cleaning products availabele too from the
internet, hardware stores, and home improvement centers. Pick
whichever one best suits your surface and/or stain you wish to
remove. For natural stains like dirt and moss you could try one
of the weaker non toxic 'green' concrete
cleaner solutions. These are excellent as they seem to
eat away dirt without harming the environment. For tougher
stains like paint then you can try scraping it off first, then
adding a stronger product.
Oil stains can be tricky
to get rid of, there are mixed reviews of the products
available. This has led to some people trying home remedies
like cola or household bleach. We recommend trying these out
then covering the area if your car always leaks from the same
spot. A small piece of ply wood is ideal, and you can paint it
to match the colour of your driveway or garage, it isn't the
best solution but fixing oil leaks in cars can be more
difficult.
